jef logan: local visual artist

Resident to downtown First Friday Las Vegas and Vegas StrEats Festival El Cortez, jef has been making his way through the local art scene by producing work that pierces through to audiences and crowds at his local events.

Drawing since childhood, he has been a self taught artist. His style incorporates many visual layers that leave people pondering.  His art is the creation of balance, complimenting color, proportion, movement, playful lines, texture, and of course symbolism.

A fan from his INSTAGRAM reads, "Something about the hectic yet wispy lines… like it leaves a heavy taste in the tongue."
Filled with, "tasty illusions"

"He lives life as an artiste.. not just thru his amazing pieces, but the things he says, the energy he brings the way he inspires & encourages. A true artist, not only can render life's beauty visually,.. but knows how to appreciate, live, breathe & reciprocate all of that beauty thru each moment of life whether internally (meditating, spiritual seeking, reiki) but externally by connecting with others.
His ability to articulate ideas and pair it with something visual.. crazy good. He doesn't put filler words/captions.. and the titles enhance the beauty of everything.  Everything he does, there's a reason & meaning."

-There are so many ways for people to interpret a moment which is why
I leave it up to the observer to interpret my work in their own personal way. - jef

The guys at Cloud Citi Vape shop in Las Vegas needed an upgrade in wall steez. So I provided them with a high way to higher style with an all roads lead to vegas theme. Perfect choice for them to give me artistic freedom.  They just wanted a vegas theme somewhere in the piece. So i decided to do it in a different way.

"splitting decision"
'this piece started as an acrylic. i wasn't satisfied with the feel to it, so i redid everything in oils. i will leave the audience to decide what feelings it generates'

"above the roots"
oil on wood panel

"you were meant to fly"
oil on wood panel
'this was inspired by someone who was unsure of their own talent and skill. don't trap yourself within your own mind with doubts and insecurities. if you have a passion for anything, spread those wings and take flight, be that person you see yourself being and do it! and keep doing it until you have that which you desire'

"Painted Perception"
gouache on wood
'this is an abstract interpretation of the perception that your mind and your thoughts create your reality. for either positive or negative. its all in your perception'

This was an opening piece for the opening of DAX gallery. Ive caught butterflies before. Your movements must be subtle, slow, and patient. Ready for anything. And once you execute in capturing it...  its a feeling of instant bliss and accomplishment. But its easy for that butterfly to escape in the moment of fear and sudden loss of confidence. "Hold on to dreams"
"Rise above" This was in dedication to the recent tidal wave disaster in the Philippines.  Watercolor on watercolor paper.

"consumed and confused"

"caught in a brain storm"

"blanket of insecurity"
acrylic on wood
"entrapment"
gouache on canvas
'an older piece that i can leave up to your own interpretation'

"sanctuary"

"melodic roots"

"smooth criminals"

"world's smallest violin"
"record to my soul"

"piece of heaven"

"real eyes realize real lies"

"eye of the bee holder"

"petal stool"
